Iso Paeley's fans have missed him on screen and his Hitz Video's slot. The programme has been off air for about six months now and he has no intention of bringing it back anytime soon.
Whiles that might disappoint his fans, Iso is happy that he's moving on to bigger challenges. He now likes to call himself HMIC, which means Head Man in Charge (of TV3's 'Mentor' talent hunt competition).
This has been a true Cinderella story. He started off as a production assistant and has since moved through the ranks to become head of TV3's entertainment department. He's pretty uncomfortable talking about his journey into mainstream entertainment in a country which gave him.
In between the sound checks for the 'Mentor' contestants and people coming over to ask a question or two, Iso spared a few minutes to speak with TV3 WEB.
''As a producer, you are like a driver and you have passengers who make constructive contributions to the ride,'' he says.
''All I do is to make sure everything is in place. And trust me I've got a very strong team. This is just a step higher for me.''
Iso worked on the two previous seasons of 'Mentor' as assistant producer but he got his big promotion after his boss got a new job as producer of 'Ghana's Most Beautiful'.
And he's determined to make sure that his bosses do not regret making him the HMIC, He's introducing some new segments for the current season of Mentor. For example, there is the concept of the confession room. This will be a place where the contestants will vent any frustration they might be confronted with. They won't necessarily speak to anyone they simply go there and talk to the walls.
Iso came to Ghana in 1993 and so far lie seems to get round pretty easy. Already he feels a part of Ghana as any other citizen of the land would. He speaks Twi, enjoys the quiet rides to the Western and Volta (his favorite) regions.
About how he's managed to gain fame in his land of refuge, Iso says: ''It's a great success the way I see it and it's a challenge, but it is all about taking it one day at a time. But if you have the passion to do anything in life, it makes it easier, more fun and interesting.., and I've been blessed by Ghana. It's by the Grace of the Almighty and I believe that irrespective of where you are from, you have the potential to excel.''
